SmartThinking Report and Revision Plan Instructions

As explained in class, as a writer, receiving feedback about your work from potential readers is one of the most helpful steps in the writing process as it aides you as the writer in seeing where your ideas may not have been completely clear, fully developed, or logically organized.

When you receive your feedback from the SmartThinking tutor, you are to read every word of the feedback on the cover sheet of the report as well as their comments within your paper.

Inside of the word document that contains that report, then go to the top of the next blank page and free write a one full page response explaining what you think you need to focus on when you revise your paper and why based on the tutors comments. This is very informal like the free writes that we do in class, so paragraphs are not needed, but it must remain focused on the topic of your revision and what you think that needs to look like and why.

It must be a minimum of ONE FULL PAGE, TYPED, and DOUBLE-SPACED.  As is typical in this type of writing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation isn't important.  What does matter is emptying your mind down on to the page as quickly as possible without editing yourself.

After competing the free write, save both items (the tutor's report and your free write) as one MS Word document and upload that into Ulearn before class. See SUBMIT ESSAYS/ASSIGNMENTS > SMARTTHINKING REPORTS AND REVISION PLANS.
